To raise awareness and build knowledge, trust and understanding, between sectors about working in partnership.
All partners recognise the value of working in partnership which:
Identifies joint objectives whilst recognising the operational autonomy of all partners
Provides and enables mechanisms to ensure partners learn about and value different ways of working.
Create strategies that deliver services which incorporate cross-sector
knowledge and skills, which in turn lead to improved service delivery.
Work collectively to identify common interests, priorities, strengths, potential resources and needs.
Encourage volunteers, members, trustees and employees to aim to understand how the Statutory Sector works.
Provide information and support to help representatives develop codes of practice on the role of nominated representatives to partnership groups.
Improve mechanisms within the VCO sector to enable fair representation and participation within partnership groups.
Acknowledge the contribution of the other sectors in decision making about policy and service development.
Recognise that the Voluntary and Community Sector need to be represented appropriately on strategic partnerships
Encourage officers and members to improve understanding of how the Voluntary and Community Sector operates.
Develop organisational codes of practice for officers and members on partnership working.
Respect the legitimacy and mandate of nominated representatives to speak on behalf of the VCO sector.
